MINI DENTAL IMPLANTS

The smile you’ve always wanted… today

Minis are quicker, cost less, and go where other implants can’t, and that’s huge.

Why Mini Dental Implants?

The Perfect Fit

Sometimes the bone structure is too narrow to accommodate standard implants.

Minimally Invasive

There's no need to graft bone, cut gum, or stitch anything up, and you recover faster.

Same-Day Implants

We extract your old teeth and send you out the door with a new smile the very same day.

Dentistry Redefined

What happens during an implant procedure? We extract the old tooth, drill a hole in the bone, and screw in the implant with a new tooth.

In-House Cutting-Edge Technology

We use 3D imaging to better understand your bone structure, ensuring a safer procedure and enabling same-day implants.

Testimonials

5/5
"Dr. Ben and the staff at Concierge Dental are wonderful. My mother has gone here for many of her dental needs, and they have always gone above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable with the procedures. They have also put in mini dental implants on her lower arch, and she is far happier with this type of denture than with the traditional "glue-in" type, as they don't slip out. All in all, I highly recommend Concierge Dental Group for any dentistry needs."
- Dave H.
"Doctor Benjamin Oppenheimer and his team, they care about your wants and needs as a patient. They provide you with many options to fit your personal preferences. I went for 7 years with out having teeth and decided to go to Concierge. The team there made me feel comfortable and when it came to the denture fittings Shari Vogenauer was beyond skilled at fitting and adjusting my mini implants. I highly recommend Concierge and their services!"
- Dean M.
"I scheduled my consult for mini implants (for the teeth I had lost due to the situation above) with Dr. Ben and he ended up cancelling his lunch and performing the initial procedure that day! All the staff, from the front to back, were all compassionate and friendly. You don't feel judged in any way, as I've previously felt at other offices. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr Ben and the entire office. The drive from derby to Williamsville is always worth it!"
- Crystal H.
"I just received my 5th mini implant from Dr. Ben, and highly recommend him and his staff. have never felt any discomfort and the whole process was so fast and easy! Dr. Ben is the BEST!"

Mini Dental Implant FAQ

By definition, it’s the screw that holds a prosthetic tooth in the jaw that is the implant, not the tooth itself or the screw and the tooth together. So, when we talk about the difference between a standard implant and a mini-implant, we’re talking about the difference between the screws.

A mini-implant differs from a standard in four ways:

  • Diameter A mini-implant is skinnier and therefore can be placed in the jaw where there’s been bone loss and no subsequent grafting to regrow the bone. Mini-implants often are used in the long, thin bones at the front of the mouth.
  • Versatility A standard implant is stouter and therefore more versatile, able to hold a crown, a bridge, or dentures. And it has a removable top. So, while there are advantages to a mini-implant, it is not always a viable option.
  • Turnaround A mini-implant – and whatever goes on it – can be put in place faster.
  • Price A mini-implant is less expensive by about half.

Bottom line: A mini-implant is a fast, easy, and more affordable option, but it’s not necessarily the better option or even practical in every situation. That’s why we offer both mini- and standard implants.

How much an implant costs depends a lot on the parts, and a mini-implant has fewer. It also doesn’t require bone-grafting. So, while a standard implant generally costs about $2,300, a mini- costs about $1,300.

The question is what then? You don’t come to us just to have a screw no one can see implanted in your jawbone. What goes on top, and how much will that cost?

Many variables inform the total cost of an implant, but a mini- can cost less than $2,000.

We accept most insurance plans — if you’re not sure about yours, call us at 716-333-3333 – but we accept new patients, regardless. Those not covered by insurance can choose from a variety of payment plans

Through third-party lenders we generally offer up to 24 months at 0% interest, but for more expensive procedures we offer plans of six or seven years. Every patient qualifies for a payment plan.

That depends on whether the implant is for an individual tooth, several teeth, or a denture. In general, however, you come in for a consultation and we take and evaluate a 3D X-ray, assess the quality and quantity of the bone at the intended site of the implant, and determine if a mini- is right for you. If so, we book an appointment for you.

Though we’re happy to discuss sedation if you so desire, we typically use a local anesthetic to numb the gums, then make a small pinhole in the bone and place the implant by hand. The implant, a threaded screw, serves as an anchor for either a crown, a single tooth, or several teeth, or serves as a snap-in anchor for a denture.

During the procedure, there’s zero pain; you’re completely numb. For 12 to 24 hours afterward, patients report pain on a level of 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Then the pain is gone.

In 12 to 24 hours the patient should be free of discomfort and able to function normally. Our minimally invasive approach to all procedures expedites recovery time.

As with most medical procedures, complications are possible but rare. The implant may become loose or an infection set in. But the body doesn’t reject dental implants. The titanium alloy of which implants are made has been used in the human body for decades.

Yes, and we can help. Concierge’s Dr. Ben Oppenheimer, who is widely regarded as an expert on implants, is personally familiar with most manufacturers and helped design the miniimplant we use. Though the design is slightly different, it, like all miniimplants approved for use in the United States, is made of titanium alloy.

Nobody else had done it. Dr. Oppenheimer, who was a key opinion leader for the oldest dental company in the United States, has been involved with miniimplants throughout their development. As a result, manufacturers called on him to help design the product.
