Can You Use Mini Dental Implants Right Away?
You are able to use some mini dental implants right away. Again, it has more to do with the way in which they’re used. Let’s take Dentures, for example. A lot of the forces on implants plants
Minis are quicker, cost less, and go where other implants can’t, and that’s huge.
Sometimes the bone structure is too narrow to accommodate standard implants.
There's no need to graft bone, cut gum, or stitch anything up, and you recover faster.
We extract your old teeth and send you out the door with a new smile the very same day.
What happens during an implant procedure? We extract the old tooth, drill a hole in the bone, and screw in the implant with a new tooth.
We use 3D imaging to better understand your bone structure, ensuring a safer procedure and enabling same-day implants.
By definition, it’s the screw that holds a prosthetic tooth in the jaw that is the implant, not the tooth itself or the screw and the tooth together. So, when we talk about the difference between a standard implant and a mini-implant, we’re talking about the difference between the screws.
A mini-implant differs from a standard in four ways:
Bottom line: A mini-implant is a fast, easy, and more affordable option, but it’s not necessarily the better option or even practical in every situation. That’s why we offer both mini- and standard implants.
How much an implant costs depends a lot on the parts, and a mini-implant has fewer. It also doesn’t require bone-grafting. So, while a standard implant generally costs about $2,300, a mini- costs about $1,300.
The question is what then? You don’t come to us just to have a screw no one can see implanted in your jawbone. What goes on top, and how much will that cost?
Many variables inform the total cost of an implant, but a mini- can cost less than $2,000.
We accept most insurance plans — if you’re not sure about yours, call us at 716-333-3333 – but we accept new patients, regardless. Those not covered by insurance can choose from a variety of payment plans
Through third-party lenders we generally offer up to 24 months at 0% interest, but for more expensive procedures we offer plans of six or seven years. Every patient qualifies for a payment plan.
That depends on whether the implant is for an individual tooth, several teeth, or a denture. In general, however, you come in for a consultation and we take and evaluate a 3D X-ray, assess the quality and quantity of the bone at the intended site of the implant, and determine if a mini- is right for you. If so, we book an appointment for you.
Though we’re happy to discuss sedation if you so desire, we typically use a local anesthetic to numb the gums, then make a small pinhole in the bone and place the implant by hand. The implant, a threaded screw, serves as an anchor for either a crown, a single tooth, or several teeth, or serves as a snap-in anchor for a denture.
During the procedure, there’s zero pain; you’re completely numb. For 12 to 24 hours afterward, patients report pain on a level of 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Then the pain is gone.
In 12 to 24 hours the patient should be free of discomfort and able to function normally. Our minimally invasive approach to all procedures expedites recovery time.
As with most medical procedures, complications are possible but rare. The implant may become loose or an infection set in. But the body doesn’t reject dental implants. The titanium alloy of which implants are made has been used in the human body for decades.
Yes, and we can help. Concierge’s Dr. Ben Oppenheimer, who is widely regarded as an expert on implants, is personally familiar with most manufacturers and helped design the mini–implant we use. Though the design is slightly different, it, like all mini–implants approved for use in the United States, is made of titanium alloy.
Nobody else had done it. Dr. Oppenheimer, who was a key opinion leader for the oldest dental company in the United States, has been involved with mini–implants throughout their development. As a result, manufacturers called on him to help design the product.

Mini dental implants, like standard implants, heal in the same amount of time. The healing process is called osteointegration. It’s where the bone attaches to the surface texture of these dental implants. The way that I explain
Traditional implants can be a months-long process. Minis are a same-day procedure consisting of a few simple steps. The result: a flawless new smile.
