Cosmetic Dental Veneers FAQ

With proper care, veneers can last anywhere from 7-20 years.

Veneers do not require any special care, but it’s important to practice good oral hygiene, such as brushing and flossing regularly, to ensure they last as long as possible.

Yes, veneers can be used to close gaps between teeth and improve the appearance of your smile.

Veneers are considered a permanent cosmetic dental treatment, as a small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth during the placement process.

The veneer process is typically painless and does not require any anesthesia. However, you may experience some sensitivity or discomfort after the procedure.

Porcelain veneers are typically more durable and stain-resistant than composite veneers, but the best option for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences.

Veneers can improve the appearance of slightly crooked teeth, but for more severe cases, orthodontic treatment may be necessary.

Yes, veneers are custom-made to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth, so they will look natural and blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile.

The veneer process typically takes two to three visits to our office, depending on your individual needs and treatment plan.

Veneers are considered a cosmetic dental treatment and are typically not covered by insurance. However, our team can work with you to discuss financing options and make the treatment as affordable as possible.

Our Process -- And Yours

Non-surgical treatment, the method of choice for early-stage gum disease, essentially amounts to a deep, professional cleaning of the teeth that gets at the tartar under the gumline and includes the application of a local antimicrobial.

Vigilance (yours)
It's important to be vigilant for gum disease because it can be painless, revealing itself only when valuable treatment time has been lost.
1
Local anesthesia (if needed)
Root-planing and scaling clean down to the roots. We may use a local anesthetic to make you more comfortable.
2
Root-planing and scaling (deep-cleaning)
If diagnosed in the early stages, the preferred and more conservative (i.e., non-invasive) option is scaling and root-planing.
3
Anti-microbial application
We proactively apply an antimicrobial to the affected areas to kill and guard against any bacteria there that could pose a setback.
4
Ongoing home care and vigilance
You establish and make a habit of a rigorous home dental-health regimen that includes thorough brushing and flossing, and ongoing vigilance for flare-ups.
