Dental veneers nowadays are these thin layer of porcelain that can go on like a false fingernail, right on top of your teeth? The beauty of dental veneers is that they’re thin, minimally invasive, and they can really provide a beautiful look to the covering of the outside of the teeth. Some of the limitations of veneers are that your teeth must be healthy. If your teeth aren’t healthy, then a different modality should be chosen.  

If you’ve had a history of decay or any other, restorations, fillings or even a crown or something like that, you’re not going to want to choose dental veneers. Dental veneers are really a purely cosmetic solution. In many cases, dental veneers are great if you have healthy teeth with spaces, you know, maybe your teeth are too small or thin and you like to make them look a little bit bigger.  Dental veneers are perfect for that type of application.  

If you have a bad bite or you have a unusual, bite scenario, dental veneers can be a little bit more fragile. So, we want to make sure that we protect your bite. If your bite is edge to edge, we’re probably not going to want to do dental veneers. We have other solutions for you.  

Cosmetic dentistry has lots of different options.
