Planning your veneers, one step at a time
What would you like to change about your front teeth, and what would you like to keep? Start there. Before deciding on veneers, discuss the look you want, the treatment involved and the alternatives with your dentist.
1. Talk through your goals and dental health
At CDG, we start by examining your teeth, gums and bite and listening to what you want to change. Veneers are one option alongside bonding, whitening and crowns. We explain why veneers fit the recommendation and whether other dental care should happen before cosmetic treatment.
2. Discuss the proposed shape and shade
We use CDG’s virtual smile-planning tools to discuss the proposed appearance before treatment. Tell us what you think about the shape and proportions and how much change you want. The preview makes that discussion easier; it does not promise that the final teeth will look exactly like an image.
3. Understand preparation before you agree
We explain the preparation your proposed veneers would require before you decide. Veneer preparation can involve removing enamel, which does not grow back. Your doctor covers the clinical steps and comfort considerations; your treatment coordinator helps you understand the cost and appointment sequence.
4. Plan the time between appointments
Your treatment plan distinguishes preparation, any temporary stage and the appointment to fit the finished veneers. Where temporary coverings are needed, the team explains their care and eating restrictions. The number of visits depends on your teeth and the restoration plan, rather than a fixed timeline for every smile.
5. Review fit and appearance before bonding
We check the veneers’ fit and appearance before they are bonded, including how the shape and shade sit alongside your other teeth. This is another point to discuss the design with your doctor. The bite is checked as part of placement so appearance is considered together with function.
6. Make a plan for ongoing care
CDG’s care pathway includes follow-up and ongoing dental visits. Veneers still need brushing and cleaning between teeth and may need repair or replacement over time. We discuss care for your restorations and any bite or grinding concerns relevant to your mouth.
