Can I Get Braces as an Adult? 

You can get braces as an adult if you want braces as an adult. We do brackets for patients in our office, but most adults are looking for something more like clear aligners. You’ve heard of some buzzwords: Invisalign® – They have been out for over 20 years now, promoting their technology, which are clear aligners that are prototyped with 3D printing. The digital revolution has really allowed us to be able to do this in a really efficient manner for adults and teens.  I had a patient who was a senior, over 65, that wanted to straighten out her teeth, and she said, “I’m really excited about straightening out my teeth”. She had healthy gums, healthy mouth, and, she never had braces before in her life, but she wanted straight teeth. We used clear aligners to help her to achieve those goals. Braces aren’t age restricted, just like implants are not age restricted. Age is not a restriction for what types of procedures that you can do.
