Video: The Process of Teeth in a Day

It’s interesting when we talk about teeth the same day or one of the branded products, Teeth in a Day™. The question for the patient is, how long do I have to spend with you? Can I be sleeping through it? And can I have my teeth the same day?  

The answer is, believe it or not, the easiest way to get teeth in the day/teeth the same day is to have all of your teeth replaced the same day. And I’ll tell you why. When you have one tooth or a couple of teeth that you need to get fixed, if we have to remove them, it’s possible that the bone or the substructure in that area, the surrounding healthy tissues are not healthy enough. The surrounding tissues are not healthy enough to do anything. You may have a problem in that one spot that prevents us from doing a permanent tooth or a fixed tooth in that same day. So, the general consensus, the idea surrounding teeth the same day, really is about removing all of your teeth and using various spots around your jaw in order to replace your teeth the same day, which we do. We do that procedure. 

Sometimes patients are lucky. Maybe they have a tooth that was removed a dozen years ago, and now they want to consider replacing it. We possibly could do a tooth that same day. It depends on the bone structure. We can evaluate that with our cone beam CT imaging. That gives us a three dimensional picture of the bone in that area. 

It always comes back in my opinion, to being open and honest with your dentist and coming in for a consultation. When you call on the phone and you ask a question of how much is an implant? Now, these are the reasons why it’s very difficult to give a straight answer. When insurance you have? Are implants covered, do you have the ability to place the tooth in the area? How bad was the infection?  

I suppose if you as a patient could describe your volume of bone for us, we may be able to give you a little bit of a better answer. Also, health status concerns. Auditing it by phone is really tricky and, again, the reason that this conversation goes to, well, what do I want to do to replace my missing teeth or how can I get teeth the same day? 

It really is because there’s just so many factors. You need an expert that does this kind of thing all the time to give you an opinion about that. And in my opinion, you want somebody that not only does the surgical part, they can put you to sleep and remove your teeth and do the implants and, put the implants in right away. 

You’re also going to want the restorative part of it. The person actually gives you what you’re asking for the teeth the same day. Dentists that do both are the way to go. And that’s what we do at Concierge Dental Group.
